Abstract:

A series of 2-[{(4-Substituted-1-ylsulphonyl)sydnon-3-yl}]-1,3,4-thiadiazino(6,5-b)indoles [4a-f] synthesised and studied for their antimicrobial activities. Structures of the synthesized substituted indoles were characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, Mass and elemental analysis (C, H, N).  Selected  strains of microbes were used for the antibacterial and antifungal activities. Substituted sydnonyl-3-yl indoles [4a-f] explored mild  to moderate biological spectrum against  the  used  microbes.  Among  the  all  screened  compounds;  4g  displayed  significant antimicrobial activity.
